Dsquared² Spring 2010 RTW.

The curtain parted at Dsquared² to reveal a woodsy scene, complete with a pair of tents lit by chandeliers and mirrors propped against the trees.

Camp is always an element at Dean and Dan Caten's shows, of course, but for Spring, the twins took the camping theme quite literally.

Not that you could call their take on the great Canadian pastime roughing it, despite the Budweiser 40s the models toted down the runway and the Band-Aids that presumably covered their bushwhacking wounds.

Their cutoff shorts, tees, and jean jackets came tarted up with sky-high neon patent-leather platform booties and gray hiking socks and were tweaked with plastic coverings—the better to stay dry in the wild, presumably.

Other outdoors gear also got the Caten treatment: A fly-fisherman's overall bib was spliced onto a T-shirt and decorated with the brand logo, while an evening dress was whipped together from a plaid wool blanket stitched to nude satin.

Also in the mix: a few party dresses that looked like prom material pinned here and there with dragonfly brooches and some smart signature outerwear. Only loosely inspired by the season's theme, the latter included a cropped butterscotch leather jacket and a color-blocked parka. Aside from items like those, it was hard to take much of the above seriously, but as usual, it was a heck of a lot of fun.
